Choosing a career is a major decision for young people. The N.C. Department of Transportation will host its third annual Career Exploration Day on Tuesday, March 21. The event creates a link between the classroom and workplace by giving students the chance to explore various employment opportunities in the transportation industry.
The event will feature information about a diverse mix of professions, such as engineering, planning, accounting and human resource management. Other opportunities include positions for carpenters, web designers, welders, surveyors, mechanics, equipment operators and more.
Sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school are invited to attend the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kerr Scott Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh.
Schools interested in having their students attend should contact Marolyn McLean at email@example.com by Tuesday, Feb. 21, to register. Schools are required to provide their own transportation.
