Get advance gate tickets to the N.C. State Fair (Oct. 17-27) and help public schools raise money.
For every adult advance ticket sold ($7.00), two dollars will be returned to individual schools. For every children’s advance ticket ($3.00), one dollar will be returned to the school. To be sure the money goes back to the school of your choice, you need to enter the school code number, which is available from the advance ticket online site

•Heritage High School will host its first golf tournament Oct. 7th, 2 p.m. start time. Registration is $100 for adults and $65 for students and includes 18 holes of golf, a barbecue dinner following the tournament, and a chance to win a bunch of prizes. •The next meeting of Heritage High PTSA is Oct. 8. The PTSA meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the media center, unless otherwise noted. Memberships are $10 for parents and faculty and $6 for students.
Wake Forest High
•The Powder Puff Games are today, Oct. 3, in Trentini Stadium. Freshmen vs sophomores play at 5 p.m. and juniors vs seniors are at 7 p.m. Admission is just $2 or bring canned goods to Student Government Association drop-off at gates.
•The Austin Flowers Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is Oct. 28, at Heritage Golf Club. This tournament remembers and honors one of the school’s former students by awarding two $2,500 scholarships to a WFHS senior each year.
