LOUISBURG — A Pitt County woman has been jailed on suspicion that she helped an alleged murderer escape capture.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit arrested Marissa Shontay Taylor, 27, 803 Peedee Drive, Apt. 8, Greenville, on three counts of accessory after the fact in connection to the triple homicide that occurred in Franklin County March 26, 2016.
On April 1, Darius Revel Robinson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Keisha Livingston, Shamare Harris and Diana Edgerton on Harris Road, Louisburg.
Taylor was taken to the Franklin County jail and held on a $100,000 secured bond.
The degree of her involvement after the murder was not released.
Rape of minor alleged
WAKE FOREST — A Wake Forest man is being held on a $1 million secured bond for allegedly having sex with a teenage girl under age 16.
Joseph Anthony Calise, 48, of 2009 Rainy Lake Street, was arrested by Wake Forest Police Officer A.J. Urdaneta Friday at 1:35 p.m. and charged with two counts of statutory rape, according to online arrest records.
The sexual encounters are thought to have occurred between Dec. 28. and Jan. 2.
His first court date was set for Tuesday.
Authorities team up
LOUISBURG — A Louisburg man and his alleged associate were pinched by authorities in Franklin and Granville counties after law enforcement units conducted a joint investigation to catch a thief.
Tavain Vontate Hicks, 23, Lot 30 Fred Hight Drive, Louisburg, and Maleak Alexander Yancey, 23, 320 Aiken Ave., Creedmoor, were arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Investigative Unit Jan. 3 and charged with breaking and entering and larceny, Sheriff’s Chief of Staff Terry Wright reported.
They were also charged by Granville County Sheriff’s deputies with possession of stolen property. The men allegedly stole a dirt bike from a Centerville address Dec. 30.
The pair were taken to the Franklin County jail and held on a $55,000 secured bond for each of the three felony charges.
