LOUISBURG — Louisburg College announces the return of the holiday classic The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, by Barbara Robinson.
Norris Theatre Director Wally Hurst will direct the production, which will be presented on Dec. 2-11.
In this Christmas comedy, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids — probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem — and the fun – when the Herdmans and the Christmas story collide head-on.
This delightful comedy, adapted from the best-selling book and the only story ever to run twice in McCall’s magazine, is an American classic suitable for the entire family, and one of the best and funniest Christmas stories ever written. Come join in the fun!
The show opens Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Shows continue Saturday, Dec. 3 with an afternoon show at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 7:30 p.m. The following week, the shows continue with two school-day matinees Friday, Dec. 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. respectively. The second set of weekend shows are scheduled for Friday, Dec.9 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Dec.10 and 11 at 2 p.m.
