WAKE FOREST — A two-man construction crew consisting of Bill Green and Chuck McCartney chiseled the “Rolesville” from the large sign outside of the Wake Forest-Rolesville High School May 16.
The new Rolesville High is slated to open in August and the current school is reverting back to Wake Forest High, a name it held until 1971 when Rolesville was added.
Wake Forest High will retain the Cougar as its mascot while Rolesville High has already adopted the Ram.
Green said he offered to help do the work at no charge on account of how historic the name removal would be. “It is a real honor to be the ones doing the job,” he said.
