I love new ideas, especially in video games. The entire (most of it, I’m looking at you Activision) industry of video gaming thrives on new ideas.
This week we take a look at Digital Extremes’ game; Warframe.
While it is still in its open-beta format, the game offers tons of fun for anyone looking to be a space ninja.
In-game you are a part of a race called the Tenno. Shrouded in mystery, you are said to be the descendants of a long forgotten warrior race.
You are called out of a cryogenic pod to defend your nearly extinct species from the invading hordes.
The aforementioned hordes consist of two warring factions. The Grineer being the first you encounter, is a decaying militaristic species that has devolved into hating all other living things. The second species is a proto-corporation that has complete control of all trade done on the Solar Rails.
They are a secretive bunch, who use their robotic minions to do most of their dirty work while they search for materials left behind by the ancient Orokin race.
And no, I have no clue who the Orokins are besides being the forerunners to the Tenno. The combat is fast and flexible, you can leap off of walls, run along them defying gravity, or even flip through the air to dodge incoming attacks.
On top of your already formidable dexterity and strength, each class of Warframe comes with its own unique abilities which will prove invaluable in the coming fights.
While the game will sometimes turn into an all-out race between you and your teammates to reach the end, the combat is still tons of fun to just sit back and take your time picking off each enemy that comes into range.
On top of all this the entire game is free to play. By this, I mean that you in no way need to buy anything to progress through every world. There are cosmetic components that you can buy, but besides that everything can be found or crafted on your own.
If you want some more tips on where to farm components or what Warframe to start out with, shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help you out!
