WAKE FOREST — All residents of Wake Forest and its extraterritorial jurisdiction are eligible to apply for the town of Wake Forest’s Cemetery Advisory Board. There are three vacancies on the board.
The online application is available on the town’s website at www.wakeforestnc.gov/advisory-boards/advisory-board-application.
Anyone without computer access is invited to complete the application by using the computer kiosks in the lobby of Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St. Hard copies are also available upon request by contacting executive assistant Cathi Pope at 919-435-9467 or email@example.com.
Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 19.
Applicants will be expected to attend the next scheduled meeting of the Cemetery Advisory Board on Wednesday, April 24, to introduce themselves and discuss why they wish to serve. The board will convene at 7 p.m. in the Wake Forest Town Hall Ground Floor Meeting Room, 301 S. Brooks St. The room is most easily accessed via the building’s Taylor Street entrance.
Following the interviews on April 24, the Cemetery Advisory Board will review its slate of candidates before submitting its recommendation to the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners. The board will announce the new appointments during its regular work session on Tuesday, May 7.
The selected applicants will fill the vacated seats and their terms will begin immediately.
The town’s advisory boards were established to give citizens input into what happens in the community and to advise the board of commissioners on matters that affect citizens and their town government.
