RALEIGH — The Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Chris Winter as the chapter’s new president and CEO.

“I am extremely excited to have Chris Winter as the next CEO of Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina,” said Kyle Ostendorf, the board’s vice chairman. “I can’t wait to continue my work with the board, Chris and the staff to help grant as many wishes as we can to children in eastern North Carolina and continue to grow the chapter.”

Winter began his career as a teacher and coach and transitioned to Living Water International in 2008 with the charge of creating a curriculum to engage youth in philanthropy. In his time with Living Water International, Winter served as regional director of philanthropy and, in 2014, was promoted to senior director of mission advancement and senior director of philanthropy. In this role, Winter led a team of 12 people responsible for raising more than $13 million per year.

“After nearly 11 years at Living Water, this opportunity to join the eastern North Carolina chapter of Make-A-Wish is a dream come true,” said Winter, “I am so excited to work with a dynamic staff that will shape the future of this chapter. We are poised to continue the tremendous work that is ongoing and to grow our ability to deliver wishes and impact wish families across the chapter.”
