Youngsville heads up multiple parks and recreation events

YOUNGSVILLE — Youngsville’s Parks and Recreation department has two events this Saturday and has registration available for a kickball league in June.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Youngsville will hold its second annual 5K Color Run at Luddy Park across the street from Youngsville Elementary School. Runners will start at the baseball fields.

The first packet pickup will be today from 4-6 p.m. at the Luddy Baseball Fields. The second packet pickup will be 7-8 a.m. on race day. Registration can be found online at https://event.racereach.com/youngsville5kcolorrun2k19.

It will be a family-friendly environment with fun activities such as music, entertainment, beverage stand and booths from local businesses. All proceeds will go to the Parks and Recreation department for Youngsville.

Later on in the day at the same location, the Youngsville Community Egg Hunt will be at Luddy Park Saturday at 11 a.m. There will be egg gathering, bounce houses, face painting, a chalk zone and other fun activities planned for kids. The event will wrap up around 1 p.m.

Youngsville will kick off their co-ed kickball league June 3 at Luddy Field. The games will be held Monday nights and food trucks will be on-site. Team jerseys comes with registration. Players can register at https://etrak-plus.com/prod2/portal. Players can also register at Youngsville Town Hall.
