N.C. Senator Chad Barefoot is keynote speaker
WAKE FOREST — N.C. Senator Chad Barefoot has been tapped as the speaker for the annual Trentini Foundation Scholarship Banquet slated for April 18.
The winners of this year’s Trentini scholarships will also be named, including the winner of a $30,000 college scholarship awarded to a Wake Forest High School senior.
Barefoot is currently serving his second term. He is the youngest member of the Senate and represents the 18th district, which includes parts of Wake and Franklin Counties.
He serves as chairman of the Senate education appropriations committee and chairman of the committee on workforce and economic development.
The nonprofit Trentini Foundation is committed to promoting and rewarding excellence in Wake Forest schools. It was created to honor Anthony J. Trentini, a teacher and coach with impeccable ethics and morals.
Each year, the foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors of Wake Forest High School and Heritage High School.
The dinner takes place at 6 p.m. at The Forks Cafeteria in downtown Wake Forest. Tickets are still available for the dinner and can be purchased at trentinifoundation.org.
