•The SIREN3 Cook-off Contest will be Oct. 12 in Louisburg. Any fire, rescue or police agency that serves Franklin county may enter.

•The teachers’ grant cycle opened Aug. 1. Applications are on the FCS website and each school principal’s office.
UWFC will be awarding $26,000 for innovative projects in the classroom. Deadline to submit a grant is Sept. 13. Teachers may submit grants individually or collaborate in a school or grade-level effort. For more information contact 919-496-0937.
