Virginia “Ginny” Lee Turner Kaess, 79, of Wake Forest, passed away, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring. She was born in Sophia, W. Va., the daughter of the late Fred Brewer and Ada Pine Godfrey Brewer. Virginia was a hotel general manager/hotel sales for many years.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Harry Richard Kaess; children, Fred Turner and wife, Kathy, of Moyock, Chip Turner of Greensboro, John Turner and wife, Leslie, of Greensboro, and Lesa Atkins and fiancé, Kip Greer, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Fred and Emily Turner of Washington, D.C., Whitney and Jamie Hughes of Holly Springs, Lindsey Turner of Cary, Matthew Turner and Casey Turner of Greensboro, and Adam and Ian Atkins both of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Preston and Davis Hughes; cousin, Shirley Blackburn of Sophia, W.Va.; nephew, Davie Wilson of Locust and niece Betty Holt of Beckley, W.Va.
