The Neuse Christian Academy JV and varsity volleyball teams sponsored their second annual Pink Game Sept. 24. The teams sold pink ribbons the previous week to remember those who have fought or are fighting cancer.
“It makes me feel like I am doing something for the greater good,” said sophomore Rebeka Weaver about why she wanted to participate in the event.
“It also gives me something to fight for while we are playing,” added fellow sophomore Kellie Price.
The teams also had a bake sale during the games. A total of $525 was raised and will be given to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.
