WAKE FOREST — Wake County received $1.6 million from Duke Energy Progress to provide additional assistance to low-income customers with bill payment.
The county is required to distribute the money by June 2016.
The Northern Regional Center, located at 250 East Holding Ave., will begin accepting applications for the program in mid-November.
Applicants must provide a bill, photo identification, and social security numbers and income for all people in the household for consideration of acceptance.
The program is in addition to the Low Income Energy Assistance Program and the Crisis Intervention Program. To apply, contact the Northern Regional Center at 919-562-6300.
