CARY — The Wake County Board of Education is scheduled to vote at its Dec. 3 meeting on a student assignment plan for the 2014-15 academic year.
Student assignment staff has recommended that the board continue the current base assignment plan next year.
Under the proposal, there would be no reassignments or track changes for schools.
With the exception of the Career and Technical Education high school opening in fall 2014, which students must apply to attend, the district would not open any new schools in 2014-15.
This eliminates the need for student reassignments, staff members told the Board of Education at a work session Nov. 5.
Families will receive information in December about their assignments for next year.
Information on the pre-application process for application schools, including the Wake Leadership Academies, Career and Technical Education high school and Early Colleges, is available at wcpss.net/what-we-teach/programs/magnet/magnet-application.html.
