WAKEFIELD — Members of Wakefield High’s Just Think First club gather to ready for the kick off of State Farm’s Celebrate my Drive online voting campaign. Wakefield High will compete for votes next week, Oct. 18-26, with high schools across the country. They will use their winnings, should they get them, to fund their teen driving program, Just Think First.
All told, State Farm will award $3.25 million to schools. Wakefield’s JTF club has been working with local State Farm agent Christi Spencer, who has helped organize getting the word out. Each day during the voting period, students will be able to vote at school. Each student is also working to recruit at least 20 additional people to cast votes.
The process is easy — voters log on the Celebrate My Drive website, celebratemydrive.com and indicate their support for Wakefield High. The vote is a commitment to promise to be a safe driver. Everyone 14-years-old and older can vote once a day for the nine days.
