RALEIGH — Wakefield’s girls lacrosse team scored double digits in both the first and second half to defeat Rolesville 21-2 at home Friday. The Wolverines made 10 goals in the first half and 11 in the second.
Both Andee Abrams and Meredith Mann recorded five goals and one assist each in the win for Wakefield. Jenna Chitla scored three goals and dished out three assists for the Wolverines.
Seven other Wakefield players scored at least one goal in the victory. Ashley Faiella and Mira Valentino both had one assist for the Wolverines.
With the win, Wakefield improved to 3-2 for the season and are undefeated in NAC 6 conference play at 2-0. The Wolverines defeated the Rams 19-5 in the first match of the season.
Rolesville dropped to 1-5 after the loss. They are still without a win in conference play.
Wakefield will play Heritage at home after spring break April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Rolesville will take on Wake Forest at home on the same day at 3:30 p.m.
