Expect the low temperature Friday morning to be in the mid 50s. Under mostly sunny skies, we’ll warm into the upper 70s - pushing the record of 81 degrees at RDU, but probably not quite reaching it. Clouds increase Friday night ahead of a cold front, so the overnight temperature will only drop to the upper 50s. It will be partly sunny for Wake Forest’s Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday with an afternoon high in the mid to upper 70s and enough instability to support isolated thunderstorms, but there is only a small chance for rain as of this writing. High pressure and clearer skies on Sunday will bring a low in the upper 30s and a high in the mid 50s.
