Willie Frank Bartholomew, 78, of Louisburg, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at his home.
Willie Frank was the son of the late Willie H. and Suell Joyner Bartholomew. He retired from the Army National Guard at the rank of 1st Sergeant after 32 years of service and was honored with the Army Achievement Medal for his outstanding leadership. He went to work in 1963 with the N.C. Forestry Service and retired as district ranger after 34 years of service.
He was a lifelong member of Saints Delight Baptist Church, and a charter member of the White Level and Justice Volunteer fire departments as well as the White Level Rescue. He was also a charter member and past president of the White Level Lions Club. He served as a sworn officer for the town of Bunn and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the Louisburg Masonic Lodge 413 and served as Past Master Mason.
Funeral services were May 21 at Saints Delight Baptist Church in Louisburg. Entombment followed at Duke Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emily Perry Bartholomew; daughters, Frankie Lou Bartholomew and Mary Helen Phelps (Johnny), and son, William Taylor Bartholomew (Alison), all of Louisburg; grandchildren, Kenneth Faulkner, Hallum Dickens IV, Khlud and Hadeer Youssef, Angel Collie, Noah, Zachery and Peter Bartholomew.
Memorials may be made to The Masonic Home For Children at Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, N.C. 27565-2728, in memory of Past Master Willie Frank Bartholomew of the James A. Johnson Masonic Lodge 413.
